The whiskered bat is the smallest of this genus of bats in our country and one of the least know bats. It has a long brown fur, lighter on it belly, and very dark wings and ears, while the young are darker than the adults. It's body can measure up to 4.1 cm long with a 3.6 cm tail and it can weigh 6 g.

Base Characterization

The whiskered bat uses several types of shelter, such as buildings, trees, shelter boxes, rocky slits and underground cavities. It hunts in riparian habitats, the edge of forest areas and open agricultural areas.

Spring, Summer and Autumn. However is is difficult to see because it is a rare specie with nocturnal activity.

The whiskered bat feeds on insects which it captures during flight.
