On Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the Ecological Educational Center of Tornada marsh (GPS: 39.447790, -9.132621), near Caldas da Rainha, come and learn how to work with Common Club-rush (Schoenoplectus lacustris), how to prepare it and make a basket with its fibres. Common club-rush is traditionally used in Portugal to manufacture mats, chairs and baskets.
Trainer: Cristina Fonseca.
Program
10 am - Small presentation of some vegetable fibres and its use.
11 am - Making a basket with common club-rush fibers
1 pm - Free lunch (bring your picnic and enjoy the tables and scenery)
2 to 5 pm - Making a basket
