Vale do Asno Country House is an old farming place, located in Altura parish, Castro Marim municipality, in the Algarve Barrocal, at elevation 100. The property has 20 hectares and is forested in pine wood. The building, surrounded in part by a garden with a pond, has 10 accommodation units, and is open all year round. It is 8 minutes away from the beaches Verde, Monte Gordo, Alagoa / Altura and Manta Rota. From here you can see part of the river Guadiana estuary, the municipalities of Castro Marim and Vila Real Sto. António and even Spain (15 minutes drive).

Besides heritage recovery, this project aims to raise awareness of the Algarvian Barrocal sometimes overlooked and undervalued, creating here a unique space for nature lovers. Here, you can stay in a real rural tourism, enjoying also on the property, the ecological lake and a small dam.

It has rooms with private bathroom, living room with TV, dining room for breakfast, indoor bar and outdoor terrace, biological lake, rural activities in the pine forest and dam. Facilities are prepared for people with physical disabilities. It has bar service, as well as some aesthetic services (by appointment) and many rural activities.
