  • In Sendim, Miranda do Douro municipality, based on ancestral techniques, creativity and innovation, using brown fabrics, sackcloth, saragoça, serrobeco and linen, L’ Pardo produces regional costumes, garments and fashion props, (covers costumes, blankets, pillows, handbags, keychains, pencil holders, purses...), designed, embroidery and cut by hand, especially the famous Cover Honors Mirandesa, considered the most distinguished piece of clothing of the Mirandese Plateau.

L’ Pardo won the 1st place in the national handicrafts competition (2009), in Portugal.

In the past, Capa de Honras Mirandesa (Mirandesa Honors Cloak) protected the shepherds from the cold, but nowadays has taken other social functions, being used in Miranda do Douro municipal ceremonies, in pauliteiros dances (a typical regional dance) and in mixed dances. It is a piece with great ethnographic value and requires a thorough work by the craftsman due to its complexity made with sheep wool, after being spun, woven and pisoada (sackcloth). The value of an Honors Cloak is measured by its shape and the days the craftsman takes to make it. The richest and most noble people were considered Honored to have the privilege of using a cloak with more work and that took longer to be done.
