The l Bárrio house is a dwelling with the traditional architecture of Terra de Miranda, restored with natural materials, predominating the granite and woods of the region (juniper and Pyrenean oak). In the typical village of Picote, it is in a great place to observe birds, one step away from Fraga do Puio viewpoint, and to get to know the cultural heritage of the Douro International Nature Park.

It uses renewable energies for heating (central and water).

In the outdoor "patio", with about 25 m² between old stone houses, you can enjoy an alfresco meal or fresh evenings in summer. It has living room with fireplace, equipped kitchen, TV, DVD, games, air conditioning and, on the mezzanine, has wifi, sofa bed and a reading room with publications on the region, environment and on the mirandesa language.

In the Almond and Thyme rooms, relax with family or friends after a stroll through the region where the great birds still find refuge.

See the medieval graves, the prehistoric vestiges, the old water mills, the Picote dam and the staff old houses, not forgetting the trail around the village. Note the pigeonry that provided manure to the agricultural fields and the Douro river, running through its valley embedded between great cliffs.
