Inaugurating in the 50´s of the twentieth century, the Municipal Market was for several decades as the main supplier of fruit, vegetables and fish of Castro Marim village. After its requalification and rehabilitation, the so-called Mercado Local (Local Market), managed by Novbaesuris EM SA, is a multifunctional tourist-cultural space reserved for the promotion of the local arts and knowledge and the main point of the products of Castro Marim municipality.

Inserted in a municipal heritage building, the new market is intent to develop and strength the local trade, with a positive impact on the promotion policy of local producers and artisans. Through this space, they have an excellent way and unique partners in order to promote their products.

Due to its central and strategic location, welcomes also the new Tourist Information Office, being a unique space for the promotion of tourism and cultural equipment and the ideal starting point for pleasant walks about Castro Marim’s history, nature and traditional knowledge.
