Stone pine of large dimensions, with monumental character, with very thick stem, where two large branches emerge to form a large amplitude canopy. The tree gave the name to the location - Alto do Pinheiro. It is known locally as "Pinehiro das areias" (pine of the sands), whose name derives from the preference of this species for sandy terrain, especially in the regions of Grandola and Alcácer do Sal.
